ONSLAUGHT: 'The Sound Of Violence' Video Released

"The Sound Of Violence", the new video from British thrashers ONSLAUGHT, can be viewed below. The band's first official clip in twenty years (the last being from the band's 1990 full-length, "In Search Of Sanity") was filmed and edited by Lukas Hambach of Bloodwork Entertainment (DESTRUCTION, GAMMA RAY) and produced by Tommy Morriello and Thosten Lütje.

Commented ONSLAUGHT vocalist Sy Keeler: "'The Sound Of Violence' was inspired by the horrendous loss of over 150,000,000 souls throughout the 20th Century, instigated by religious tyranny and dictatorial madness of humankind. The lyrics echo the horrific realities of war and remarkable resistance endured by our fellow men and women which continues to this day. Wake up world; welcome to a land of devastating brutality where conflict is a part of everyday life. This is the sound of violence."

"The Sound Of Violence" comes off ONSLAUGHT's fifth album, "Sounds Of Violence", which was released in January via AFM Records. The follow-up to 2007's "Killing Peace" was recorded and mixed at Hansen Studio in Ribe, Denmark with acclaimed Danish producer Jacob Hansen (RAUNCHY, MERCENARY, VOLBEAT, HEAVEN SHALL BURN).

Regarding the direction of ONSLAUGHT's new material, guitarist Nige Rockett previously said, "Musically and lyrically, this is definitely the most brutal and intense ONSLAUGHT album to date. It's full of machine-gun riffs, ferocious drum patterns and some pretty fucked up lyrical content.

"This album was never meant to be pretty. It's not a concept album by any measure but there's a definite theme to the whole package, right through from the sleeve design to the music and onto the words; it's violence all the way.

"There's a lot of hate in 'Sounds Of Violence' and a whole lot of reality in there, too, much of it straight from the heart."

ONSLAUGHT recently signed a deal with Enorm Music, the publishing arm of ICS, which organizes the Wacken Open Air festival.
